Easter Wheelbarrow

The challenge at IO is an Easter card, and I needed a couple so I made this.  The gingham paper is made from IO background stamp. Everyone should have a gingham wheelbarrow, right??

I sponged a background piece added an IO fence and framed the panel.  I filled the wheelbarrow with IO grass and put some eggs in the wheelbarrow ready to move from place to place and hide for the youngins.

I will enter this in the IO Challenge Easter Fun

Pink Zinna

Today is the first day of spring so my thoughts went to flowers. I have not used this Spellbinder's zinna for about a year so I decided it needed some love. I started with a Die-Versions brick die cut that I used as a stencil for some molding paste. I topped that with a Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish. Some Spellbidners leaves, a Memory Box Wild Flower corner that I cut in smaller pieces, and Sue Wilson's Dandelion Clocks , and a Cheery Lynn Hugs finished up the card.

Think Green at Scrapy Land

Today is my last post as a Scrapy Land Guest designer. I want to thank Anne Temple and the team members for making this such an enjoyable experience. Now on to the challenge. I don't usually have green as my prominent color so this was a challenge. In fact, I made three cards before I got one I liked.  I started with this beautiful die by Frantic Stamper. It cuts four frames and one rectangle in one pass. Pretty, right? Used some assorted greenery the flowers and added a Cheery Lynn Hugs sentiment. The dogwood blossom is from Susan's Gardens and  the rest of the flowers came from Wild Iris.  Of course, I had to add a butterfly.

Double D Easter Challenge

Look at this wonderful inspirational board.  I love the soft colors, bunnies, candles and crosses. I decided to take my inspiration from the draped cross in the bottom corner. I had this pretty cross by Taylored Expressions that was just perfect for this challenge.

I started with a Spellbinders die that I cut in white and backed in lilac. I stamped the top layer with a background script stamp from Gina K and sponged it in lavender while it was still in the die. I put the cross on top and use a Taylored Expressions die to mimic the scarf in the picture, mounted it on lilac card base, and added a few pearls and flowers to finish the project.  .

The prize for this challenge is this cute stamp set.

So head over to the Double D Challenge Blog and check out the designs from the team then make a project to link up.

Just Peachy Easter

I had some water colored panels and another frame in melon berry so I decided to make an Easter card. Inside a used a pretty Frantic Stamper frame that a friend (Thanks Barb) sent to me. I put a sheet of vellum over the the water color panel before I adhered it to the the frame. I glued three Taylored Expression crosses together to give it some dimension.

Yellow Poppy

This came together as I was looking through die cuts  and some water colored panels that I had on hand. I started with a frame I had cut awhile back in PTI melon berry backed it with Poppy Stamps mod flower border then backed that with a water color background.  A frantic stamper white frame on top of the melon berry added a bit more texture.  I knew that I wanted a flower arrangement in the corner and finally decided I wanted a large statement so the big Iceland Poppy from Poppy Stamps would be perfect. I cut the poppy in yellow and shaded in with darker yellows. That step makes a big difference in the flower.  I kinda like how this came out.
I made this card with Poppy Stamps Spring Fling in mind.  It won't be long before the California poppies will adorn our hillsides. I will also enter Simon Says Monday Challenge Make Your Own Background

Nature is Painting Pictures

I started with the IO gingham background stamp. I inked it in versa mark on blue card and sprinkled with white embossing powder. I stamped the IO sentiment on white card and stamped leaves and  flowers around it. I used my paper crimper to give some texture on some blue card stock and a Martha Stewart punch to add a little more texture.

I cut two of the large butterflies and layered them together, and added a rhinestone.
